This workshop is focused on helping you learn the fundamentals of the patent application process.

Stakeholder Readiness Training (StART) is for independent inventors, entrepreneurs and small business communities who want to file patent applications without the assistance of a registered patent agent or attorney. The StART program is one of many initiatives and activities that form part of the USPTO’s mission.

Patent protection is critical to:

• Safeguarding products and services from imitation

• Attracting and securing funding from outside investors

• Promoting the overall commercial success of any enterprise

Requirement: Participants are to complete pre-requisite work prior to the start of the course. Upon completion of registration, a StART team member will contact you with additional details.

The intake form is to request interest in participation for the Stakeholder Readiness Training (StART)program.

Requests to participate in StART are granted depending upon resources, training time available, and the intended target audience. You will be contacted regarding your request when the registration for the selected course closes. Please direct your questions to SETD@uspto.gov.
