Thai Is Fun

From classrooms in Thailand to kitchens on California’s Central Coast, Goi Yujaroen has dedicated her life to bringing people together through cultural connection and delicious food. After moving to the United States in 2006, Goi combined her background in education with her deep love for Thai cuisine and created Thai is Fun — a business that transforms traditional cooking classes into lively, memorable events where laughter and learning go hand in hand.

Since 2015, Goi has invited people to roll up their sleeves and experience Thai cooking as more than just a class — it’s a party, a date night, a birthday surprise, a family reunion, or a unique team-building activity. But like many small business owners, Goi knew that growing her business meant tackling the digital side too.

In 2024, Goi reached out to the Central Coast SBDC for help bringing her vision to more people. With guidance from Business Advisor and Digital Marketing Specialist Chris Caroll, she launched a new website and crafted a stronger online presence that helped her secure more consistent bookings and grow her brand. Her passion and hard work have since caught the attention of local media and earned her recognition as Alignable’s 2025 Local Business Person of the Year.

Today, Thai is Fun continues to spread the warmth of Thai culture one cooking party at a time — proving that when people come together over good food, they leave with much more than just a meal.

Helping small businesses like Thai is Fun grow means adding more flavor, culture, and connection to the communities we call home — every thriving local business strengthens the Central Coast and brings people together in new and meaningful ways.

After moving to the U.S., Goi Yujaroen turned her love for Thai food and culture into Thai is Fun—a cooking class and event experience where guests learn, laugh, and share a meal together. Like many small business owners, she knew her passion needed the right tools to grow, so in 2024 she connected with the Central Coast SBDC for help building a website and boosting her digital marketing.
